Dr. Peter Gordon is a board-certified ophthalmologist with decades of experience in treating cataract, refractive procedures, and retinal disease. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed his internship at Grady Memorial Hospital. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and advanced fellowship training in cataract surgery at The Miami Eye Foundation, with an academic association at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a division of the University of Miami.
Dr. Gordon has held numerous leadership roles throughout his career, including past president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, the Dekalb Medical Society, and board member of Dekalb Regional Health Systems. He participated in the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Leadership Development Program and served on the Alumni Board of Emory University School of Medicine.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Gordon has contributed to ophthalmic research and co-authored publications on vitrectomy for penetrating eye injuries, and visual acuity measurement. Outside of medicine, Dr. Gordon enjoys swimming, weight training, and spending time with his wife, Norma, their adult children, and five grandchildren. He has completed two Half Ironman competitions and remains active in the Atlanta community.
